Community Meditation

Every First and Third Tuesday
6-7 pm

Firefly Studio is committed to making mindfulness practices accessible to everyone through Community Meditation classes. Maya Rook is the primary teacher for this bi-monthly gathering. She leads participants in a shamatha-vipashyana meditation practice together, offers a short teaching, and leads group discussion on a theme related to mindfulness. This session is suitable for beginners who want to learn how to meditate or experienced meditators who want to deepen their practice in community.

Join us for a donation-based Community Meditation session every first and third Tuesday of the month, from 6-7 pm.

Meet Your Host

Maya Rook, the creator of Firefly Studio, was raised in a Buddhist household and learned to meditate at a young age. She brings over 27 years of formal meditation experience, worked as the Head of Programs for a non-profit meditation center in NYC, has taught many introductory and specialty meditation and movement classes, and coordinated intensive retreats. With this solid ground of practice and hands-on experience, Maya aspires to make meditation practices accessible to everyone, break through common misconceptions about mindfulness, and help people connect with the present moment through breath and movement.
