Community Meditation

Firefly Studio is committed to making mindfulness practices accessible to everyone through Community Meditation classes. Maya Rook is the primary teacher for this bi-monthly gathering. She leads participants in a shamatha (calm or peaceful abiding) meditation practice together, offers a short teaching, and leads group discussion on a theme related to mindfulness.
This session is suitable for beginners who want to learn how to meditate or experienced meditators who want to deepen their practice in community!

Meet Your Host
Maya Rook, the creator of Firefly Studio, seeks to demystify meditation and make it accessible to everyone. Raised in a Buddhist household and having formally committed to a meditation practice for nearly 30 years, Maya knows the benefits of meditation firsthand. She strives to break through common misconceptions about mindfulness and help people connect with the present moment with ease. Maya also brings a solid awareness of the challenges of establishing and maintaining a meditation practice, as well as the importance of community support when working with one’s mind. Wherever you are on your path of meditation, she is here to offer support and guidance!
